The Spanish club is a language club that functions to further students’ cultural awareness and appreciation of Spanish. We work throughout the year to provide a wide range of cultural and language experiences.
We hope to create opportunities for our students to experience authentic cultural experiences; some of these experiences might include a trip to Chicago to see a museum display for the Day of the Dead, visiting a Spanish neighborhood and eating in an authentic Mexican restaurant. In order to help our members take advantage of these experiences and trips, we will sometimes offer fundraisers throughout the year.
Our Spanish Club will pair up with local businesses, universities, and the PHS Spanish Department. We have at least one meeting a month during which we learn basic vocabulary, experience the culture, and develop an appreciation for Spanish!
